Slacker
So this is why I have not started a blog before...I am highly inconsistent in my postings. One would think with the holidays that I would have AMPLE amount of material (and I do) just not enough time and/or energy to post things that make sense. This is my public apology and promise to post something of significance before the end of the year...If not I am sure a flogging will take place.

Ahhhh Memories
Tonight Jeff and I drove to Plano (after spending an hour in OKC traffic...not Dallas) to stay the weekend with my parents as daddy's birthday is TODAY!! We sat in the living room chatting about old hair styles, big glasses and random events. So a positive of being older is the plethora of memories that warm hearts and leave a smile on your face. Being older also had cultivated a deeper relationship with my parents. I enjoy living a life that allows me to openly talk with them about 99% of my daily interactions (not to mention the "coolness" of my parents). So as I become a big girl I am thankful for the blessings of my family, both given and chosen.

Life by the fire
So after my day at the office, with meeting to restructure and attempting to be therapeutic, I came home to find my brother had put up Christmas lights and was getting started on a fire. While I should be typing for work, I am enjoying time by a fire with Jeff and Philip. It is times like this that I do not mind being an "adult". (WOW not sure I like that word though) Today my former boss wistfully said "Little Katie has grown up" as I departed from the meeting; which lead me to think 'In the last 2 years I have really changed and "grown up". Yet I still struggle seeing myself as an adult or big girl. However, everyone around me seems to have confidence that I can handle these adult responsibilities and maybe even master them...man, they need THEIR heads examined.' So I pose this question...does one ever really think of themselves as an "adult"? Or old? Yeah, I'm not sure I will ever be there.

Welp, here it is
After years of contemplating, I have finally started a blog. Many moons ago I had inspiring and thoughtful topics; then I went to grad school poured all creative thought into pointless presentations and papers, thus losing all good ideas for anything else. So in advance I say thanks to you all for choosing to embrace my new challenge…as if I needed another one. So this is my life…as a big girl.
