New things

So today was B-U-S-Y!!!!!!!!!  To say the very least and full of new things.  The day started with an interview at North Care for a new position which would be solely crisis work and outreach; totally pumped about it.  While this was going on Jeff was going to a vet to get our temporary house guest Pete.  Let me take this moment to tell you about Pete (pictures later).  He is this SUPER CUTE black lab that Jeff and I rescued from the side of the highway.  We hooked up with the Heartland Lab Rescue who are helping with medical costs; which will be extensive as he must have been hit by a car that resulted in 2 hip fractures.  All his actions have been restricted, majority, meaning his back legs are taped.  He has just the greatest, calm, relaxed disposition and we are so excited for him to be in a home with children (he has been in SO much pain, never growled, nipped or anything, even the vet was SUPER impressed!).  Now, back to today...after getting Pete, Jeff joined me at the surgical consult for my gall bladder; yep, looks like it is gonna have to be taken out.  I still have another consult on Tuesday so we will see.  So after the consult, I ran home, ate and flew to my FIRST PRIVATE PRACTICE CLIENT!!!!  It's really happened, it's only taken like 6 months, but it is here!!!  

The last new thing is...OU FOOTBALL, it starts tomorrow!  Ahhhhhhhhh football season and tomorrow is OU's season opener and thanks to the Cunningham/Sanford family Jeff and I will be in the stands, yelling, cheering and watching our boys bring home a W-I-N!!!!!!   Yea for new things!  Thanks Father for new opportunities and blessings!

Who Knew??

Who knew that in the canals of your ears there are little rocks that help you keep your balance?? Well not me until I almost blacked out in the shower yesterday!!!! That's right, was SUPER tired, got really hot, dizzy, nausea, things started to go black and I sat down. It took me what felt like forever to get to my bed and I then either passed out or fell asleep. Jeff got home, was a bit worried and we called my official EMT brother who suggested going to an urgent care facility. Well that is what I did, found out all my vital signs were good. The doctor came in and made me do all these activities (ones like you see drunk individuals doing on the side of the road) then determined (as my eyes were rotating and I could not stay balanced with my eyes closed) I had Benign Postural Nystagmus (one of the rocks in my ears had gotten misplaced), gave me a prescription for Valium and told me to the Hill-Pike Maneuver. I asked him about the EXTREME tiredness and he said that was my body's way of making sure I stayed safe while my balance was off...God is AMAZING!!!! The way our bodies take care of us! So I took some medicine, laid on my back allowing my head to hang for 15 minutes, then 15 minutes on each side. Next I simply had to stay upright for 12 hours (there was not a lot of sleeping) and today, no more dizziness! So Who Knew there are rocks in my ears that help us stay balanced...Thanks God for making my body work so well and knowing so much about me.!

Doors closing...what will open?

So for those of you who do not know, Jeff has been looking for a new job.  Unfortunately his current job will not allow me to stay home when we have children (in a few years) or buy a house; so he has been searching.  In his current position he has been approached numerous times to apply for a supervisor position and recent he did.  We spent lots of time in prayer, asking for His guidance, His will, for Him to open/shut doors/windows  and that is what he did.  Again, just another great reminder that when you leave things to the Father, He knows what we need, not always what we want, but need.

In other news, I have been having some intestinal difficulties for the last 3-5 years with the last 3 months being totally unmanageable.  To date I've had 2 tests on my gall bladder with the second on resulting in some abnormalities.  I have been referred to a surgeon and personally am not ready to just have it yanked out.  So as of Friday, I am on a hunt for a really solid gastrointernologist or internists to really review all my symptoms, run a few more tests and make sure gall bladder removal is needed.  So if you know a doctor in the OKC area that fits that bill, please pass it on!

Truck time

As I was looking through old pictures I came across this one.  The is my friend Mandy Jonhston and back in like 2005 the singles class at Memorial went to the Monster Truck Rally and there was NO WAY I EVER thought I would go but when I got roped in, Mandy and I decided to make a statement.  In this pic Mandy has stolen my hat and we are proudly displaying our Mullet T's.  The funniest comment I recall was from a HUGE group of large, overall-wearin, mullet sportin, cheap beer drinkin group of guys who yelled things like "Waaaaa hooooo, Dig me baby!  I got a Mullet!"  or "You can heart me!".  We all just laughed, exchanged high-fives and went on.  I have to say, I really had a good time and now can say, I have attended a Monster Truck Rally!

P-A-R-T-Y

So this post is a bit late but here are some pictures for my 30th "surprise" birthday party.  It was fairly relaxing and just a good time to hang out.  I think one of my favorite parts was sitting around at the end telling stories.  Then a few of us hung out even later and laughed lots (there was some funny karaoke involved).
